As we head into winter we thought it would be good to help you with some Winter Pregnancy tips. To help you with the colder months.
Layer up
Being pregnant means you will fluctuate between being cold and hot. The best way to handle this is winter is with all the layers.
If you are hot on your way out, make sure you take plenty of layers out with you. To put on as you become colder. This is an easy way of keeping up with your different temperatures.
stay hydrated
Keep the thermostat at a temperature that keeps you happy and cozy. But remember it’s also important to stay hydrated. Even more so if you’re loaded with layers and have the heating on. You’ll need to drink at least 1.6 liters of water a day.
Dry Skin
During winter you can find your skin gets dryer (especially with the heating on). Get yourself a lovely moisturizer to use and take shorter showers.
You could also purchase humidifiers to keep the air moist in the house.
Precautions outside
I am sure we all know this… living in the unpredictable weather of the UK.
But purchase some really good shoes/boots with sufficient traction for snow and Ice. It is worth spending the extra for when you have to go outside.
If you can avoid going out in the Icey conditions and stay at home with a hot chocolate and a book on the sofa. Although all of us know this often isn’t possible.
