Self-care during pregnancy is so important. Pregnancy can be a beautiful time, but it is easy to get caught up in all things baby, and forget about yourself. Here are some ideas for your own self-care.
Get moving
Exercise probably isn’t high on your list of things to do. But the benefits are definitely there. You will feel happier when you do.
Make sure to check with your doctor what a safe session looks like for your fitness.
Ideas for exercise: A walk, Prenatal classes (including yoga), Swimming.
Spend time outdoors
Sit out in nature. Visit a forest, and sit in the sun. Being out in nature can lower cortisol levels and help to calm your mind. Being outside breathing fresh air and surrounded by trees can make a huge difference to how you feel.
Invest in pregnancy safe skincare
Do some research and find out what skincare is safe for you while pregnant. It may be a surprise to learn many out in the market aren’t safe. The chemicals in them mean you need to look at swapping.
Get yourself some lovely new creams and spoil yourself. You can use your skincare routine as part of your you-time. Take the time to be away from your phone and practice breathing.
Treat yourself to baths
Give yourself a spa night as often as you can. Run a warm bath, grab a book you want to read, and allow yourself to destress. Leave that phone out of the room!
It is important for you and your body to find as much relaxation time as you can. DO check that the items you use are safe for pregnancy.
Book a prenatal massage
Treat yourself to a prenatal massage. A great way to help your body with the aches and pains of pregnancy. Book a specialist in your area and let them work their magic.
