Doc’s Photoshoot with specialist Dog Photographer Gloucestershire
Meet Doc Holiday!
Doc Holiday is a loveable mixed-breed dog that came into the studio for a photoshoot here at Blink Studios in Tewkesbury.
Doc was such a character at his shoot and his story is such an incredible one, that we wanted to share his journey with you!
Doc’s hoooman first came across Blink Studios on Facebook. We were running a dog competition to win a photoshoot and a small framed image. She entered and was selected as one of our lucky winners. Doc was then booked in to come for his very own photoshoot experience at our studio nestled in the historic town of Tewkesbury.
Before Doc’s photoshoot, we got to know him via a telephone consultation with his human, finding out his likes/dislikes and making sure we captured his most loved features. For Doc, his human particularly loves it when he picks up one or both of his ears, which Elise captured perfectly, as you can see in the photo below!
Doc is a 4 year old mixed-breed dog who lives in Kidderminster. Doc spent his first years growing up in Namibia! Shauna (Doc’s human) went to work at a nature reserve in Namibia working on animal protection and her trusty four legged bestie accompanied her. So Doc actually grew up spending his early years, hanging around with Lions & Rhinos!
Doc had no fear of the larger animals and would spend his days surrounded by them. However, Doc does have one fear… woud you believe after hanging around with all those wild animals, that he’s actually scared stiff of goats… Yes goats!
Elise is our dog specialist here at Blink Studios and when she met Doc she fell in love with his playful yet soft nature. Doc was brilliant at being able to sit and wait, especially when chicken was involved! Elise started off with more of a classic style, which is everyone’s favourite! A dark background and gorgeous lighting to really empahsise the texture in a dogs’ fur and capture all their adorable features. Elise then chose a green background for a rustic look and captured his relaxed and playful side. As you can see Doc is a big fan of belly rubs.
After a quick studio reset, Elise injected some colour into the photos with some beautiful gel lighting, which against the dark background really makes Docs’ black fur stand out. After lots of treats and chicken, Elise finished up with some light and bright headshots and silhouettes, to give a real variety of images for Shauna to choose from.
After his photoshoot, Elise booked Shauna in to come back and see Doc’s photos about a week later in our cinematic viewing room. Elise who is our head editor, then busied herself selecting the very best photos to edit. During the week his photos were edited adding a little magic to make sure his features shine through.
Luke then made his viewing slideshow, which has all the edited images, set to music, and prepared the images for viewing. When Shauna came to see his photos, she was blown away by the slideshow and instantly fell in love with the photos which captured docs personality perfectly.
Shauna chose one of our really popular collections, which contains digitals, an Artbox (which is a beautifully presented portrait box with 10 individual portraits in) and a stunning wall art collection called The Four-One. The Four-One (shown below) is two 24 inch square images framed in a gorgeous wide and rustic moulding, which perfectly displays her favourite images from Doc’s photoshoot. We absolutely love thinking about our images hanging on our clients walls for them to enjoy every day.
“Very professional and friendly staff, making myself and my dog (who was the star for the photoshoot session) feel at ease and relaxed, which made for some excellent photos to come out!” Shauna- Dog Owner Kidderminster
